Saffron is the dried stigmas of crocus which is part of the lily family. It has an aromatic, bitter yet sweet to spicy flavour and has a very vibrant yellow colour. Saffron is very valuable and is used for both sweet dishes as well as curries, sauces and rice to add colour , flavour and refinement.
