Description
The "Roveja" is a wild form of the field pea and is one of the oldest known varieties. It has been consumed since the Neolithic Age and used to be cultivated in karstic regions, mainly in Umbria. Like all legumes, it is an excellent source of protein and contains numerous minerals and antioxidants. It can be used in many dishes such as creamy soups, purees and spreads or in salads, stir-fries and risi e bisi. This organic pea variety is only the size of a peppercorn but has an intense, exquisite taste!
